This is Colleen. She’s an outgoing, cuddly 13-week-old kitten who lives at South Carolina’s Humane Society of York County (HSYC).
When Colleen first arrived at the humane society, the first thing everyone noticed was that she didn’t have a tail. It didn’t seem like she’d been born without one, but since they didn’t have much information about her life before getting to the rescue, they weren’t sure how she’d lost it.
What they did know is that her lack of a tail didn’t stop her from being one of the most social kittens they’d ever met. Every chance Colleen got, she’d run around and snuggle up with the other kittens at HSYC.
“She’s definitely a playful little gal,” Vicki, a rescue attendant at HSYC who preferred to have her last name omitted, told The Dodo.
One day, Vicki walked into HSYC’s cat room to check on the kitties and noticed something that made her stop in her tracks. Colleen and another kitten named Pedro Pascal were holding paws through the bars of their kennels.
